NATIONWIDE YOUTH ASSOCIATION (NYA) is a non-profit making leading organization in the field of social development. It was founded by a group of like-minded social activists in the year 2017 and registered under Indian Society Registration Act, 1882. The organization is formed with a wider concept of holistic and realistic development approach towards controlling the irregular immigration and to ensure that violations of rights of labors shouldn’t happen & they will be empowered to achieve social security and dignified livelihoods.
NYA focus is to make our youths self-assured that they could do much better in their own country in terms of income generation and live with their families in a dignified manner rather than migrating illegally in search of green pastures on foreign lands. As a learning organization, through well efficient team, NYA is doing awareness among people of Punjab about irregular migration at war footing and giving them the access to income generation activities.
NATIONWIDE YOUTH ASSOCIATION (NYA) broader objective is community development through people’s participation in partnership with the concerned government authorities, educational institutions and community development-led CSOs so that common masses live with pride, dignity and peace.

MIGRATION
Migration is a global phenomenon caused not only by economic factors but many other factors like social, political, cultural, environmental, health, education are included under the broader classification of Push and Pull factors of migration.
Strong Diaspora networks, Low agriculture productivity, increasing mechanization of agriculture and farmers’ indebtedness at phenomenon level and lack of employment opportunities due to low literacy rate, personal urge to enhance one’s social status, parents fear of unemployed youths to fall prey to drug and alcohol and social evil are the key factors that triggered people to go out of their home to metro cities, other states and countries.
Migrants and the SDGs
The 2030 Agenda (with core principle to "leave no one behind," including migrants) for Sustainable Development recognizes for the first time the contribution of migration to sustainable development.
11 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) contain targets and indicators that are relevant to migration or mobility.
The SDGs’ central reference to migration is made in target 10.7, to facilitate orderly, safe, regular and responsible migration and mobility of people, including through the implementation of planned and well-managed migration policies.
Nationwide Youth Association is the progressive organization of India, working with migrant communities to respond to contemporary challenges in Punjab.
ADVOCACY
NYA seeks to create a stronger understanding of the migrants and laborers situation amongst the public and relevant government authorities. To empowering the migrants and labors in terms of socio-economic sphere, NYA seeks for creation of multi-state actors partnership with social-economic model that combine social and economic goals and rights of the migrants and labors including the skills development, accessibility to income generation activities, consistent wages, traditional cum modern design techniques, market-led growth technological interventions.
In the area of Migration, dialogue will be initiated between stakeholders at district, state and regional level to provide the strategic direction on developing awareness and on sensitizing potential migrants and their families to prevent irregular migration & on migrant rights and financial & social intermediation or micro-finance practices to reduce migration.
CAPACITY BUILDING
NYA believes that capacity building has to be based on local realities. Normally this is achieved when capacity building is led by local people, working in tune with local social or political processes. Capacity and Skill Building Initiative of Nationwide Youth Association aims at providing youth with training opportunities in diverse areas by creating linkages with skilled persons and organizations and by certain events like workshop and seminars.
HEALTH
NYA realizes the challenges of the underprivileged section of the society to access Primary Healthcare services. NYA team organizes free multispecialty health camps across nearby villages and town to Jallandhar, which includes a thorough check-up by a doctor, specialized tests namely BP and Haemoglobin (Hb) monitoring. These timely interventions provide early diagnosis and treatment reducing the incidence of morbidity or being unhealthy. Such health camps address immediate health care needs of the marginalized communities.
